Kathleen Mufffie-Witt accepts commissions for Still life , portrait and figure paintings in pastel, charcoal and pencil. Prices are dependent upon the level of detail, the number of figures and the size of the finished painting. Price structures for portraits are available upon request.
The Process
It is preferable for clients to sit for their portrait session in Ms. Muffie-Witt’s State College, PA studio. However, should the client prefer, she will travel to and from the location where the portrait is to be painted.
Portraits can be painted from photography.
Ms. Muffie-Witt meets the clients prior to beginning the portrait to determine the client’s expectations and to offer appropriate advice as is necessary.
Once Ms. Muffie-Witt has met with the client, she will do a series of sketches and compositional layouts to show the clients.
After a selection is made, she will do a highly rendered drawing in charcoal or pencil. Upon the client’s approval of the value drawing, she will begin the principal painting.
Payment
One-third deposit is required to begin the commission.
One-third payment is due upon approval of a layout sketch and beginning of the principal painting.
The final payment is due upon completion and delivery of the finished portrait.
Travel expenses and shipping, if necessary, are additional. State sales taxes will be billed if applicable.
